Created from a highly figured slab cut from the point where a branch exited the tree, this piece carries the tension of its growth in the grain itself. Rippling patterns move across the surface like flowing water, revealing the internal forces that shaped the timber over decades.

The tabletop is connected to three sculpted legs, all formed from the same Camphor Laurel. Hidden sliding dovetails secure the joinery, a traditional method chosen for both strength and longevity. These allow the piece to be disassembled and reassembled if required.

A knot within the top has been reinforced with a simple block of Spotted Gum, selected to subtly echo the darker internal tones of the slab while adding structural stability. A natural finish has been applied, ensuring the piece can be easily renewed and maintained for years to come.

Designed as a low coffee table.
